  • Summer Lovin Craft-Along in full swing, come show me your project that was inspired by the thought of Spring and Summer! Ends June 27th when I record.
  • East Tennessee Yarn Crawl – I made it to 3 stores this week… Forget me Knot, The Yarn Haven, and Loopville.  I got goodies… Forgotten Yarn from Theresa of Forget Me Knot, Kraemer Belfast, a locally made project bag, Vile sock weight, and a neat closlure that said button.com on the back of the package.
  • Tour de Fleece – I’ll be joining the team with Knit Me Happy and Sassypants Knitter podcasts and I encourage you to do the same! Starts June 29.
  • Podiversary giveaway – Tell me your favorite moment, or a happy thing related to the podcast, or something you’d like me to talk more about….whatev’!  Keep it positive tho, please, thanks!

Wips:

  • Elise Shawl by Evan Plevinski out of Wolle’s CCC in Tealish Purple on I hook in Doctor Who bag from Star Knits
  • Cerisara by Bonne Marie Burns in Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool on US 7  in the zombie cupcakes bag from Krazy Thread

I review 101 Crochet One Skein Wonders.  Don’t walk, run if you’re a crocheter to get this book.  Lots of great projects.  I’m working on the Linen Placemat out of Louet Euroflax out of this book.

In my life… Game of Thrones broke my heart, True Blood is on it’s way, and Downcast has changed the way I watch podcasts.

Episode 10 – Scatterbrained!

PlayPlay

This week, no spinning, no off the needles, no acquisitions… and then no solid train of thought at the end.  I get a little scatterbrained.

On the needles….

Razor Cardi by Jennifer Dassau, US 6, Naturally Caron Spa in Greensleeves

Halloween socks in Fishknits Warm Heart, Hobgoblin colorway, US 0

Lady Kina, (Knit along with me!!) byMuriela,US7, Yarn Bee Diva Sequin inIstanbul

I review…

Spin Off magazine Fall 2012 – interesting articles, some pretty patterns.  I liked the Eyelet Socks, Neckwarmer, Tangled Leaves Shawl, My First Shawl.

Interweave Crochet Fall 2012 – VERY inspiring this time!  I liked the Saturn Sweater, Fall Fields, Prairie Grass Cardi (destined to be my Mama’s sweater), the filet crochet Chinese Dragon Shawl, Rasta Rose Cardi (oh my goodness I want this NOW).

What’s next?

I talk about a couple of WIP socks (the husband’s Christmas socks from last year in Sanguine Griffin Skinny Bugga, planning to rip back half an inch, and the Cleopatra socks out of Miss Babs Yummy that are going to be my version of In Slipping Color).  Once I get the Halloween socks done I’m going to go back to one of those pairs of socks.

Episode 9 – The one where I almost loose my voice

PlayPlay

This week, I’m getting over an upper respiratory infection (go, go ZPak!!), so please excuse the sniffling.

Sorry, no off the needles or spinning this time.  I’ve been sick and in bed.  I even called in sick to work one day.  That hasn’t happened in, well… ever.  But if I can’t stand up I can’t work, and I couldn’t stand up.

On the needles…

  • Razor Cardigan in Naturally Caron Spa, Greensleeves colorway, on US 6.  2 of 3 balls down, yay!
  • Halloween socks in Fishknits Warm Heart base, Hobgoblin colorway on US 0, two-at-a-time, 2 circs, toe up, probably afterthought heels?

Lady Kina KAL started Sept 1, folks!  Come join!  I will be doing a drawing November 1 for a set of Mandikat-original stitch markers, and so far the one participant will be getting them, so come on in!  It’s so far a super-easy knit.  I’m not to the arms yet, but gaining in on it.  My Kina is in Yarn Bee Diva Sequin, Istanbul colorway, on US 7.  You’ll love the stripes.

Review: Interweave Knits Fall 2012.  A couple of sweaters called my name, a cowl was cute, and a pair of socks were almost awesome, but they aren’t charted. Boo.

Up next: UFO diving and I have sweater fever!
